Goliath is a 26 year old band stallion who lived his whole life on the wild range in Wyoming. We had followed him in the wild for years and were devastated when he was rounded up in a BLM gather in October 2017. We asked for him to be re-released but our request was denied and we were then shocked when he appeared on an internet adoption event in January. We decided that he should not be domesticated or spend the rest of this life in a tiny space - he was just too magnificent and special and BIG a mustang. We agreed to the hundreds of requests we received to give him sanctuary. We started a fundraiser and so many people stood up to donate for him and to bring him back to lands similar to the ones he roamed when free.
While we waited for the internet adoption a wonderful woman in Colorado told us she had Goliath's lead mare from the wild called Red Lady and she wanted her to be reunited with her Goliath. The BLM granted us a reassignment and she travelled to us. We won the internet adoption for Goliath and the incredible moment they reunited was captured in a small movie we made which had been seen by millions of people now thanks to The Dodo and our short film. Goliath and Red Lady had their last foal together Bodhi in March 2018 and he is now living happily wild and free with his parents at Skydog Oregon.
These are just a few of the Mustangs we have brought to the ranch, there are so many more that need a safe environment to live in.
Check back soon and meet other rescued horses and please donate to help us save more mustangs. Over 150,000 American horses are shipped to Mexico and Canada every year and killed in the most inhumane and brutal painful way imaginable - stop the slaughter by lobbying your congressmen to Pass The SAFE ACT......
